Google Play store listing metadata
Write a clear app name, short description, and full description inside current policy and field limits.
In brief
Google Play uses visible listing fields rather than Apple’s private keyword field. Write naturally for the customer, make the product purpose unmistakable, and keep every claim inside Google Play metadata policy.
Give each visible field one job
The app name identifies the product, the short description classifies its use, and the full description gives enough evidence to make an informed decision. Repetition is not a strategy.
Treat metadata policy as a design constraint
Avoid misleading rankings, awards, price claims, promotional language, and formatting that Google prohibits. Verify current policy at submission time because enforcement and examples can change.
Write for meaning and search together
Use recognizable category and job language where it fits naturally. Keyword density formulas cannot substitute for relevant, legible copy.
Read copy beside the product
Check every capability, price, subscription, privacy statement, and screenshot against the build. Remove future-roadmap language from the live listing.
